AKAN DAY NAMES AND THEIR MEANINGS

For a long time most of us have thought and accepted the fact that Akan day names like KWASI, KWAME, AKUA,etc are names given to male/female born on particular days of the week without actually knowing the actual meanings of these names.This is because so much of our culture,which our constitutes customs,language,foods,ceremonies,identity,etc has been lost due to westernization.
I stumbled upon a book that explains the meanings of these names and their significance which I thought I should share with all of you.Before I get to the meanings of these names let me give a brief overview of a few important points.
